Dezember 1868 in Berlinchen, Neumark; \u2020 11. Januar 1941 in New York) war ein deutscher Schachspieler, Mathematiker und Philosoph. Er war der zweite offizielle Schachweltmeister und zugleich der bislang einzige deutsche Tr\u00e4ger dieses Titels. Lasker, a man with doctorates in\\r\\nMathematics and Philosophy, was a subtle psychologist and possessed\\r\\nexceptional competitive traits and will power. He retained his playing\\r\\nstrength until old age. At the age of 67, he took part in an international\\r\\ntournament at Moscow, where he was placed third, ahead of many leading\\r\\nplayers of that time.
